As a child, I was supposed to play games. However, games started to be boring, so I decided to mess with my OS a bit. Enjoyed it.
By the time, Windows was getting more & more annoying. Finally, at the age of 13 I got rid of it and never came back. I wanted to have full control over my computer and decide how I maintain my OS. Since then, I'm a happy GNU/Linux user and an independent self-hoster.
The more I knew, the more stuff I wanted to control on my own. I enjoyed being in a FOSS world and replaced nearly all proprietary software with open source alternatives. My whole time at the computer was solving issues, tweaking my OS, reading source code and finally... creating my own projects!
Later I started building my own PC setups, because my mini PC with iGPU was too weak for 3D Modelling (see this website's background). Of course, enjoyed it. Now I can create very custom hardware for special purposes or just for fun.
